Irregular periods? (Please Help!)?!

Question:
I went two months with out a period bfore and now I have them every two weeks. I'm 13 and I've had my period for two years already. Should I see a doctor? What will they do? Will they have to give me a pap smear?
Answers:
When you're younger, it is more common to have sporadic periods. I'm 25 and mine still aren't very regular. It oculd have something to do with your body size. If you are very petite or extremely athletic your period can be even more random. One reason you should worry about it is if you're having sex, and I hope that at age 13 you aren't, but it must be said. If you are sexually active, you should go see a gynecologist and get the full exam, which does include a Pap smear. If it helps any, I don't think they're so bad. If you keep having your period every two weeks you should see a gynecologist anyway and get checked out for a condition called endometriosis. The gynecologist should explain to you what tests they're going to do and what they need to do in order to perform them.

they get more regular as you grow up, if it persists then you should see your gyno, im 20 and i have 2 periods a month, im not sure what you can do?

It's always good to be checked out by a doctor, but I wouldn't worry too much- my periods were irregular my first several years- I would go months without one and sometimes have them only a couple weeks apart. Now I'm like clockwork, down to the day of the month.

Well i heard you must find a guy to have sex with and you must suck their weener and they must suck your boobs if you have any. Then the guy must pee on your hairy front but and then have kids. I went off subject but I win 2 points! HAH!

Yes, it's time to see a doctor.

Chances are they are going to put you on the pill to regulate your periods.

They will probably give you a pap smear too.

sounds like hormonal imbalance. yes, they might do a papsmear, depending on the situation, and they may put you on birthcontrol pills to regulate your periods, definitely see a doctor.

The fact that you're concerned and questioning whether you should go to a doctor means you probably should. (I'm not a doctor, just a fellow female.) Anytime you're concerned because your body is acting up abnormally I think it's wise to go to your doctor. If you have a gynechologist, see him/her.otherwise I'm sure a family practice doctor would be fine too. Every two weeks seems way too often to have your period. Poor thing!

They won't give you a pap smear unless you're sexually active. Because you're young, your body is still working some things out. I wouldn't really worry about it now, but if you're nervous, go to the doctor, it couldn't hurt. Don't be afraid and be very honest about anything they ask. I think you'll be fine.

i think it's best that u go to a doctor.. don't be too worried cause even i have irregular periods and it can be annoying and scary at times.. i think if u go to the doctor they will give u some pill to make ur periods more regular and i think they might give u a papsmear too..
try not to worry so much yea.
