i am just about to be made homeless i am on benefits what can i do?!

Question:
i have a drink problem
Answers:
Many things depend on where you live and in what state you reside. There are different places available based on a city inside a state as well. If you are on governement benefits from a disability or the like, then you should immediately seek help from an organization of the state you live in for assistance in retaining those benefits while finding a place to live.

Many agencies (non-profit, not government) have programs for those that are homeless or are about to be homeless. Those programs can assist you in finding a residence, keeping your benefits and assisting you in finding help for your drinking if you want that too.

Check your local yellow pages for homeless shelters and social workers in those shelters, explain your situation and seek out the help.

I wish you the best of luck.

Other Answers:
Get yourself admitted somewhere to treat the drinking problem, and do it on the benefit plan. Then you have a place to stay and you can solve your problem.

just drink the problems away. don't worry about em.

This is referred to as 'hitting rock bottom.' It is your wakeup call to get it together and become responsible!

stop drinking.

Find a rehab and put your heart and soul into completing it. Do that first step and there will be people there to help you get back on track.

Go to your nearest housing aid for help

get checked into rehab for a few months dry out and get things sorted out

Stop drinking until you get a stable place to live and a stable home. Go to AA and ask them. Don't think you have to stop drinking forever, just stop long enough so you'll be able to drink in a home.

Don't listin to that prick tickin muslim that will only make problems worse take the benefit plan and get help on your drinking problem

Come on over, and bring your stuff.I live in a big white house.

Get all of your important paperwork together, and pack your most valuable possessions (photos, etc), and give them to someone to put in safe-keeping for you. Have yourself admitted, if you can, to a treatment facility. If you can't, stay in a homeless shelter and follow the advice of the social workers.

Talk to the worker assigned to your case and see if he/she can get you into a rehabilitation program. If the drinking problem has been going on for some time and you don't have the money to continue drinking, go to the hospital emergency clinic for help with d.t.'s or other withdrawal symptoms. If they have a rehab ward at the hospital, maybe you can be admitted until you're under control again. Afterwards, talk to the human resources people at the hospital or rehab to decide what your next move should be.

I agree that you need to ask your doctor to admit you to a rehabilitation program so that you can get sober. Once you're sober you'll have a chance to get a job and begin supporting yourself. Sometimes there are halfway houses that serve to help people transition form the hospital to the "real" world. If you don't have any insurance then maybe you could look into one of the state run facilities. I wish you the best. My husband is an alcoholic and just today I cried my eyes out because i found out he was drinking again. He had lied to me saying that he wasn't, but I smelled it on him and then found the evidence. This is pattern for us and I am to the point of breaking off the marriage because I can't take any more of this. if I do this he'll be homeless unless his mother helps him.
