Doesn't work for everybody and remeber prolonged erection is not as fun as it might sound. You can get some seriously nasty consequences from a 5 hour erection.

i'm not sure of the effectiness as an antidepressant but it helps you sleep and if i remember correctly it can cause an involentary erection
The only problem I know of for sure is that it can leave you feeling groggy the next morning, like you've got a bad hangover.
I use it as my sleeping aid at night. It works wonderfully. Sometimes hard to get going in the a.m. though.
Trazodone is an antidepressant that has been around since the early 1980's. It is unrelated to either the tricyclic antidepressants (from the 1970's) or the newer SSRI medications (Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, etc.).
Most notably, trazodone will make you sleep. It is therefore best for you to take it at night. Because of the way in which trazodone works, it is also possible that it can affect the heartbeat. Generally, the newer medications, such as SSRIs, will have greater effectiveness and a less significant side effect profile than will older medications such as trazodone. However, people continue to take it today, it can be effective, and it is very inexpensive.
