What are your suggestions on things to do to keep my mind occupied and free from!

Question:
A lot of times I wake up in the morning with so many worries on my mind. What have you done in your life to help you worry less?
Answers:
This is based on personal experience. Last year, I have a lot of thing bugging my mind where I keep worrying on my job, my study, my family etc. I have contacted specialists when I came to the point that my worries affect my health and I was diagnosed to have anxiety disorders. Specialists suggest that I would go on treatment but I have choosen the alternatives. Basically, its not just mind over matter but your attitude over matters. When you choose to worry, the more you became anxious that it would affect your health. The main goal would be how to air out that worries and I have succesfully tried the following to air it out:

1. Grab a pen and paper. Write it down and eventually you'll notice that like the ink, it would stick not in your barin but to the paper.

2. Take out an emo, metal or rock CD of your preference and sing your worries out with it.

3. Get involved in lifting weights or exercise and work your worries out in tiredness that would benefit you.

4. Evolve from a worrier to an optimist and maintain this attitude even for a day and it would eventually stacked up daily. It's your choice to smile or frown and you will no the effects affterwards.

5. Pray and ask for help from other. There are somethings that are heavy that we alone can't carry out.

Good luck pal!

I find alot of times at night that i have things like that in my head and keep me from sleeping, i helped calm my fears by writing everything down. Like if i had heard a weird noice in my car i would write down check car or have car checked. By doing that all day it helped me remember everything that was bothering me and even helped me solve them

find an enjoyable hobby

I say go do some physical activity.you'll be too tired at night to worry about anything. Can I recommend rugby? :)

Think about figures/numbers. For me, this completely took my mind off whatever I was preoccupied with, and let my mind relax from the stress of those other concerns.

I would just think about a budget, the prices of my current stock and how much that would equate to if I sold right then, the total of the bills I had received so far that month, what I would buy if I won a certain amount of money, just whatever was convenient.

Meditate.

Sit quietly, and focus on your breathing. Breathe deeply so that you can feel your lungs expand in your lower rib cage. When you exhale say "ahhhhhh", like 'yeah, that hit the spot'. Do it each breath.

If you practice this, you will find that you can control your thoughts when you have those anxious feelings because you will be carrying that calm, stillness with you all the time. Then you can call it up when you need it.

Now in the beggining, your going to get frustrated because of what's called mind chatter. Just remember, meditation is an excercise in starting over. That's why they call it practicing. As you practice, just try to stretch out the time between chatter distractions, then you'll see your own progress.

When you wake up in the morning is a good time to do it.

street drugs. (just kidding) Depending on how often and how long this feeling lasts, you may need an anti anxiety drug. This should not be entered into lightly because some are addictive. I am taking paxel prescribed by my doctor it worked for me and is available in generic. (This is important to me because I don't need to worry about how to pay for it.)I am not in the drug business in fact I'm retired and not in any business. Hope you get better.

My own experience and the advise of my doctor.

i am bi- polar with an anxiety disorder. i write it all down and circle the priorities and then check them off as i do them

As soon as you wake up, practce meditation, and do a little bit of yoga.

If you pray / You cannot worry.
If you worry / You cannot be praying..
It's just a decision. Choose not to worry. Choose to pray instead.
