Is a side effect of amoxicillin, tinnitis?!

Question:
Under quiet conditions I have experienced a high pitched beeping sound in both ears. The interval is about 1 per second.Through research I have found the condition referred to as Tinnitis. I have had 3 teeth extracted in the past month and have tken 2 different 10 day courses of Amoxicillon 500mg capsules TEV (whatever TEV Means).I have been unable to find a relationship between this drug and this condition. Anyone have any knowledge in this area?
Answers:
No, I suffer with tinnitis & have never taken antibiotics & wouldn't make a connection if I had. Have you been exposed to any extra loud noises recently? Because that would be a major factor.

Other Answers:
tinnitis or ringing of the ears is unlikely to be caused by 2 10-day dosings of amoxicillin. there are many side effects associated with antibiotics. manufacturers must make such possibilities known in order to cover their tails in the case of a lawsuit. with that said, everyone hears ringing sounds in their ears in a quiet environment. the ringing would be annoying enough for you to notice it during your daily routine.

I looked up the possible side effects of amoxicillin, both serious and infrequent. Tinnitis was not listed in either. You might consult your dentist in that the removal of the teeth may have irritated some facial nerves which might lead to some unusual symptoms and which hopefully will subside in time.

Not it's not.
I searched Medline using the terms Amoxacillin and tinnitus and the one and only article that came out was the one below.
In this article when tinnitus is caused by syphilis, amoxacillin could be the solution.

No connection listed in the PDA. However, You should consult with your Dr to see what is causing the problem. May need an audiologic exam.

I have had tinnitus for many years, reducing your salt intake may help if you want to get rid of the noise, but it may be replaced by foot cramps. I find that my tinnitus is easier to cope with then foot cramps. No I'm not joking, my ears are ringing as I type. I hope this helps you.
