Does anyone have scars from chidlhood effecting you?!
Question:
I lost 60lbs in the last 3 years. I went from size 18 to 5; 45 of the 60 pounds were due to a bad meds for my epilepsy. Well. the other day, I go to get my pay check and my manager thinks I look good in my short size 5 shorts. I went nuts, couldn't look at the man because it took me to 20 yrs at school when I was the object of ridicule. Even though I knew it was a compliment, it took me back to '75 to '87.

I think everyone has things from youth that affects us throughout our lives. I was sexually molested by a family member and it has affected me my whole life.It is really hard to overcome these events but it can be done. Best of luck to you

Good for you!! You should be proud! You are not use to getting compliments and thats probably why it took you back.Learn to accept them,Know that you are worthy of being admired,and get use to getting them.
well in the workplace no one should be commenting on your attire like that, it's inappropriate. Obviously it triggered some old baggage for you, too.
Although it was good to get a compliment and you should appreciate it, if it is painful for you to get compliments on your looks try to appreciate complimetns you get on your personality or intellignece. if someone does say godo things and it makes you uncomfortable you can say " thank you, I apprecaite what you ares aying but it makes me uncomfortable when you make judgemetns solely based on my looks, instaed of other aspects of my persoanlity"
If after a while you still are reverting back to feeling htis pain consdier seeing a therapist
