Stylist here. I'm not experienced with pressing combs, but I know hair and it sounds like your pressing comb was WAY TOO HOT!. I'm not sure what yours is like, but there are different temps. for different hair types -the courser the hair the higher the heat needs to be.

I don't think there is anything you can do about the hair that broke off. Basically you melted it. It'll need the ends trimmed once it grows out far enough because the ends will be frizzy where the hair melted and broke off.

As for the color-it probably changed color from the heat damage. I know for those who use a flat iron every day there hair gets lighter and frizzy and broken on the ends from the heat damamge. The only thing you can do now about the color is have it colored back to what it was.

In the future be careful with your hot tools. Especially if your hair is chemically treated in any way which makes hair more fragile to begin with. You'll need to find a temp. that is high enough to straighten your hair but low enough to keep it from breaking. You'll need to condition it well and try some heat protecting products when you are straightening to help protect your hair. Let's face it girls-it's not like we can stop using Heat styling tools to style our hair. I use a flat iron and a 1 1/2 curling Iron and blow dryer to style my hair. I just try not to do it every day and condition and protect it when I can. Hope i helped you out.

where did it fall out at?

DO NOT PASS GO, DO NOT COLLECT $200, JUST GO STRAIGHT TO A BEAUTY SALON!!

The section that burned off turned colors or was it your whole head?

If the section is not that big, you should be able to leave it and let it grow out. I've had a hot-comb-burning-hair incident once. I left the section alone and it grew back just fine.

Girl this is the reason I do not use hot combs, theyre very easy to burn your hair off and make the color get all icky. If I was you I would seriously go to the hair salon. It may be expensive, but hey, its better than trying to fix the problem yourself and messing it up even worse. If you go to the salon they will probably be able to cut it and cover up the spot where the hair was burnt off, also they may be able to put something on your hair to fix the color. Repeat I STRONGLY advise you to go.

You're going to need to dye it back and maybe put a weave/hair extension in it.HAIR SALON!! DOESN'T MATTER IF IT'S EXPENSIVE!Never use a hot comb! I'm so sorry this happened!

I would suggest that you cut the very edge of the hair that was burnt and then apply a herbal hair oil so that area is well conditioned and throw it back into a pony tail and wait until it grows back.

stop doing it at home!!
