Why do you sleep at night and not day?!

Question:
why dont people sleep in the day when the sun is out?
Answers:
The light keeps MOST people awake. Plus, you can't do anything at night.

Other Answers:
Nature. You *can* do it, but you have to train yourself. Also, your brain associates darkness with sleep. You may notice that no matter what, you get more tired towards evening.

1. Sunlight
2. Temperature
3. Every one else is awake
4. Too much noise

Also, it's much more practical.you can't see anything in the dark, so you might as well be sleeping then.

its called a CIRCADIAN RHYTHM or something its the fact that yr body is on a clock schedule, the sun awakes you in the morning and the lack of sun at nite languishes u but that rhythym is the opposite for night shift workers bc they had to retrain their brains into thinking the other way.

it started way back before people had electricity and lights. They needed the sun to see anything. after that, noone felt a need to change it. There are some people, however, that do stay up all night and sleep all day. They're called teenagers.

I think it goes all the way back to the cavemen. The only light they had was daylight, so it was safer for them to stay inside their caves during the dark. It's probably genetic. Even centuries later in Europe people still huddled in their homes at night, creating vampires and werewolves which made the dark unsafe. People who work at night sleep during the day; some of us are just more adaptable.

You can make yourself sleep during the day, but it is your body's natural instinct to do it at night. You've been sleeping at night your whole life, your body and mind are used to it.

People did it that way a long time ago because they were scared of the night. Who knows why. I personally would rather it be the other way around.
