is reiki something that needs to be repaid like one has to give offerings for a!

Question:
my mum told me that since reiki involves working with the mysterious energy of the universe,it will take away something in your life like you have to give offerings for a wish to come true. I don't believe a word she said but it's making a toll on me. I myself is a first level practitioner but somehow, i have become sceptical of its property and i'm thinking about proceeding further but my mom is getting in the way.
Answers:
I myself am a reiki master teacher, and my personal experience with reiki is that reiki is all about love, and love does not ask any sacrifice on your part, it expands as you distribute it among the needy, and it is the energy of faith and love with your own self and the Divine source, which works through you and your loving intention heals the deepest wounds , without considering the time and space. It is up to you to celebrate the healings to pay gratitude to all the healing helpers by departing from some thing very dear to you for some very needy person, you can have two fold happiness, obeying your mother and helping the needy, pay thanks to your mothers wisdom, I do so for this insight.

I have been practicing Reiki for several years and have never found the energy to "take" anything away from me. One of the beautiful aspects of reiki energy is that after you are attuned to the energy you bedcome a conduit for the energy. You are like the the power cord that carries electricity from the power outlet to the lamp to light up the bulb. Why haven't you asked your reiki master about this question? If you are called to take the second reiki level you can ask your new reiki master about how the energy works as it should have been addressed in your first class. Your mother is just uninformed about reiki and how it works, it is the most beautiful healing energy that I have found yet. Good luck to you and try and use the reiki every day, especially on yourself.
