It's perfectly normal not to bleed the first time. It's not an indication of virginity or lack of it.
P.S. to Jade: That's not actually true. There's nothing "magical" about a penis. Hymens come in all sorts of varieties (Sorry, I can't think of a better way to put it.) and, sometimes, are nearly solid. Tampons can certainly break a hymen.
