It is chrohns disease, and it is extreme ulcers that continue to spread along ,and up a person`s esophagus.

Crohn's Disease is one of the two named diseases in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease spectrum (the other being Ulcerative Colitis). It is a disease process marked by inflammation of the digestive tract, and can occur at any portion from the mouth to the rectum. Most commonly it occurs within the terminal ileum (the last portion of the small bowel before it empties into the large bowel). The most common symptoms include diarrhoea (sometimes bloody), abdominal pain, weight loss, and fistulae (communications between the bowel and another space like the bladder, female organs, skin). It is often diagnosed with blood tests and imaging of the bowel (barum contrast studies, endoscopy). Complications can include fistulae, bleeding, and an increased risk of colon cancer (but not as high as with ulcerative colitis). Treatment usually is outpatient, and includes monitoring for malabsorption, nutritional supplements, anti-inflammatory medications/steroids, and in severe cases surgery is required to control bleeding.

Hope this helps!
