What's it like to get a crown put on your tooth?!
Question:
My dentist says I need one.
Answers:
Having a crown done is pretty much like getting a filling done, just a bit more work. The dentist will get you nice & numb & then basically they shorten & slenderize the tooth so a crown will fit over top of it. You will more than likely leave the office in a temporary crown (there are a few offices that make the crowns themselves). I always reccomend that you take some Ibprofen before the numbness wears off & keep up on it for at least two days. Your gums will be a little tender, so swish around with warm salt water. Most of my patients say they have little discomfort when they have a crown done. Good luck.

I was terrified to get one done but it was a snap, just 2 visits.
I have never had one but my mom said it hurts like crap, but she got put to sleep so I am sure you probably will to, but she said once she woke up her mouth hurt really bad so I kind of think it is like getting braces because she couldn't eat for a day! But I am sure you will be fine, my mom can overexsadurate a lot
