I want to get rid of my rosacea-any suggestions, please!?!

Question:

Answers:
Go to a dermatologist and get it treated. However, they have linked Rosacea to fluoride. So, you might want to try laying off the fluoride toothpastes.

BIG WARNING - Use caution when obtaining medical advice from non-medical professionals such as DISTRACTEDGUY. He only THINKS Rosacea is the same as a rare skin condition that he has. The BEST medical advice you can get is from a licensed medical professional.

Don't know how true it is,but I read that it is greatly improved by splashing your face with warm clean water many many times.

There are many treatments for rosacea ranging from avoiding triggers, gentle skin cleansing regimen, antibiotics, to laser treatment. You can read about it here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosacea (scroll down to "treatments")

You need to get a prescription from your Doctor. Rosacea doesn't clear itself up. The only thing you can do on your own is avoid the things that cause flareups ie: foods, soaps and lotions that irritate you

I use Noritate twice a day. You do need a prescription for this.

Try hypnosis or NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) - they'll help you.

First of all doctors have limited understanding what rosacea is and how to treat it. I have nothing against doctors, but I really do think they are wrong when it comes to treating rosacea.
I beleive treating rosacea with antibiotics and creams will not work. It won't make it worse, but it won't make it better.
Here is my theory based on on being on being one of the very few people in North America to get a skin condition called "erythema ab igne"
I beleive rosacea is a mild form of erythema ab igne without the rash.
I'll explain why a little later, but this is my suggestions:

-Don't wear any moisturisters or Suntan Lotions, espeacially on your face, all they do is trap in heat. Only wear a mild moisturizer like Aveeno on rainy days, never on a sunny day.
-eat small meals. Eating large meals will make your skin flush.
-Don't eat hot soups or spicy food
-avoid sitting near any heat source EVEN IN THE WINTER when you are cold(it'll cause you problems for you the next summer),same with saunas
-take short showers
-take longer lukewarm baths to moisturize your skin
-use a spray water bottle and mist yourself when your face gets hot
-avoid all sources of heat from the stove, steam from your face.
-don't sit near the BBQ or patio heaters
-in short, avoid all heat for two years and your skin will slowly and I mean slowly heal. But it will.
-go to the cosmetics counter and buy an evian purse water mist to go.
-if its super uncomfortable, go to your doctor and ask your doctor to be put on a betablocker to like Inderol or Atenenol.

Roscea, I beleive is skin damaged from heat/heat from sun/steam and has thinned your skin so its very sensitive to temperature.

Erythema means redness
atrophy means thinning
