I am wondering if it is easier for a stroke patient to put on his shirt with goo!

I am an occupational therapist and I was wondering which is easier for the patient?

The weaker arm goes in first. The stronger arm can move around better and can manipulate the shirt over the head (or around the back of the neck depending on style). Then, the stronger arm can work its way into the sleeve.

It's easier for a stroke patient to put his affected arm in first. But it is best for the patient in the long run if he can try to use the affect arm as much as possible to re-establish neural motor pathways required to carry out the task.
