Please help!?!

Question:
My son has ptosis, when one eyelid is lower than the other, and he is seculded for surgury next year, but he is a little self consicense about it. Is there any way to make that eyelid a little higher or for the eyes to appear normal sized? Please help me, thanks!
Answers:
I had the surgery for ptosis on my left eye when I was 23 years old. That was about 22 years ago, and it was very successful. I could see so much better - it was like the lights had been turned up brighter.
I know what your son is going through. People ask you what is wrong with your eye. "Did you get hit in the eye?" Did your eye get stung?" "Do you know that your eye looks droopy or swollen?" "Are you tired?", etc.
It is no ones business. Everyone is different, and your son should just look forward to the surgery. I never found any way to disguise the problem, and I did have makeup that I could use. That is not something that your son would be able to get away with - not without starting another round of questions!
