Im also 5'9 and Im 20. Its not short or tall, its kind of in the "grey area." Its about average.
The average height for all americans is 5'9.
The average height for white/caucasion americans is 5'10.
The average height for Canadians is 5'8.5.
The worldwide average height for males is 5'8.
I too wonder if its short or average, as it feels somewhat short most of the time. At a bar, night club, or college, 5'9 will typically be a bit on the short side. But as a whole, it is definately not short.
