Is there something wrong with my workout?!

Question: Is there something wrong with my workout.?
Ok, so I've been doing 200 push ups(4 sets of 50), 100 sit ups, squats, mild weight lifting, bridges, etc......all at home for everyday (one day break on Friday) for the past year and a half.. However, recently I noticed that I might be doing something wrong..

I read that you need to take a day to rest to let your muscles grow.....? Is this true.? And if it is, how much should I rest with my workout.?
also, how ripped should my body be with this workout.? Right now, it is fairly toned but nowhere near a solid six pack.. My strongest point is my pecs, which are well above average --- my arms are slightly above average =(..Health Question & Answer

Answers:
yeah, you really do need to rest..
you'll make like, double the progress with rest..
i would rest about 3 days a week.. maybe everyother day.. when muscles are broken down, the only way they get bigger is by building back up (the rest periods)..Health Question & Answer

You need to give it a rest.. Work different muscle groups on different days..

Chest/tricepts
back/bicepts
legs
shoulders

You can take a day off every 2-3 days--Health Question & Answer

wow......if that routine hasn't worked in a year and a half, you're definitely doing something wrong......first of all, check your diet......if you're consuming a lot of fat or unhealthy carbs then your progress won't be much......second, you do need a day between workouts for the muscle to grow......you're not giving it any break......it's good you're working major muscles but you could also add some ab exercises, lunges, biceps/triceps, and a little bit of cardio......those could help your arms and abs......try circuit training, ive heard it works the best......good luck!Health Question & Answer
