Question: Need Advice about my HEALTH!!!!!!!!!.? Serious Answers please.?

I am an 18 and 5 month year old male, weigh about 172lbs I am 5 feet 6 inches tall.

HERE IS MY STORY
On march 3rd 2007 I was 16 years old and it was 1 month before my 17 th birthday which is in April. I weighed 265lbs at 5 feet 6 inches tall. I dieted on that day but was anorexic and belumic I stopped my diet at about January 2008 weighed about 142lbs REALLY bony. I then kept on being belumic not annorexic till about march of 08. But I still ate healthy after January. So I told my doctor 2 days ago. He said it did not stunt my growth, and I did not lose all muscle I lost Both. He checked my blood everything is normal with me. WILL i continue to grow, I think it slowed down my growth im not sure. I still have fat on my thighs and pelvic area, even breast and stomach. I look like a 15 year old a lot of people say and I have a lot of ACNE. SO by me doing this to my body is my body actually 1 year younger. For example My bodies still maturing but is it at the state of when I didnt diet. Now Im going to the gym to put on muscle to increase testostrone levels and to help increase blood flow through my body. WILL i continue to grow or thats it, My growth plates might still be open. also Will dieting healthy, like losing 1 pound of fat per week affect me growing taller and maturing.

Do you think it slowed down the process of me growing.?

PLEASE ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS
THANK youHealth Question & Answer

at 17 most guys are not done growing, they usually continue to attain height until they are 21 or 22. If you blood work all came back normal, then it is likely that your foolishness did not stunt your growth rate, lucky for you.Health Question & Answer

Forget about dieting. Worry more about your health. Eat 3 meals a day. Be sure to get a lot of protein to get your blood flow going. Food such as meat have a lot of protein. In addition, eat vegetables and make sure to drink a lot of water. If you follow this your body will be normal and will continue to grow normally. Health Question & Answer

yeah i think so. you addmit to being anorexic and belumic. Two very unhealthy lifestyles. I hope you dont return to them. I say that you should drink alot of milk. It might help with your growth problem. but as for your age...Im almost positive that you will not get any taller.Health Question & Answer

You're obviously very obsessed with your body. From your description I assume you have an eating disorder, and I do not think it's wise for you to diet. Gym's good, but take care to eat enough, regularly.

Good luck!Health Question & Answer

number 1: no more dieting for you.

You more then likely affected your whole growing process permanently.
Males will on average complete growing by age 25 but usually are done between 16 to 18 years of age. You might of stunted your growing progress by being bulemic and anorexic.

Keep lifting and eating normally and be healthy; see and a counselor about your body image and social history.

I think that you will continue to grow. The human body is remarkably resilient. I was anorexic when I was in my 20's, but I overcame it. My growth wasn't stunted at all. I gained weight in a healthy way. Dieting healthy would not prevent you from growing taller or maturing. You didn't ask for advice, and perhaps I am out of line in giving you any. However, I hope that you will rethink dieting to lose weight. It is my humble opinion that you would be better off to just follow the food pyramid, and base your diet according to guidelines. Keep up the exercise. My 21 year old son is a Biology major, and that would be his advice to you. Best of luck!Health Question & Answer

It is possible that you will continue growing. Most men stop growing from 19-25, but it all depends. (Try asking your parents when they stopped growing, though this still isn't the best judge).

It is defiantly good that you are going to the gym. Exercise can do nothing but good for you. Don't forget to do a little cardio too, though, for a strong heart. This is especially important in your case, because losing that much weight and gaining it bad is very bad for your heart.

Dieting healthy is also very good for you, though it may or may not have an effect on your growth. I'd focus less on your height and more on your body in general. Height isn't everything. Girls will easily overlook a taller guy for a shorter guy who has a better body (and good personality, of course).

1 pound of fat per week is a great goal. Most people want to lose too much weight to fast. 1 pound a week will keep you from straining your heart more than it already is.Health Question & Answer

If the least you weighed was 142 pounds, I don't think you have anything to worry about. That's well within the normal range for 5'6". I am 5'9", weigh 120 pounds, have done so for years, and I am perfectly healthy. If you had experienced malnutrition, your body would not be younger, it would be injured from not having enough nutrients. I hasten to repeat that this is NOT what happened to you. You simply went from overweight to normal weight very quickly.

People with eating disorders have a high tendency to have a distorted body image. In other words, their view of their body is highly critical, and they see defects that are undetectable to anyone else. I advise you to try to avoid staring at your mirror looking for flaws. Trust what your doctor says about your appearance. If he says you are normal, have faith that he knows what he is talking about.

If you have been diagnosed with a tendency toward bulimia (not just a label you have applied to yourself), get some counseling to avoid continuing eating disorders.

Going to the gym to build some muscle is a good idea. You should know that adding muscle doesn't affect your testosterone level. Your body maintains your testosterone level where it's supposed to be without any interference from you. Don't worry about your testosterone, it will take care of itself.

Follow your doctor's advice about dieting. If you are prone to eating disorders, obsessing about losing fat and dieting might not be good for you. The healthy body is supposed to have some fat in it. Since you're young and still growing, you should probably be gaining weight, not losing.

You are probably not done with puberty, and will continue to gain some height before you are done.Health Question & Answer
