Must men serving in the military be given a circumcision if they were uncircumcised when they enlisted?!

Question: Must men serving in the military be given a circumcision if they were uncircumcised when they enlisted.?
Just learned from a family member's mom that they chose not to have it done when the boy was born. I would never mention this to him - but would like to know if maybe one of the males in the family could offer some encouragement if he has to face this situation. Should I also post this question under "military".?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
all of the answers above are full of BS. for one they have never been in the military the way they talk. no the military dosent make you do any mods to your body. it is not part of enlisting and it isnt in the contract that a person must have this done to enlist. they did circumcision during WW 1 and 2 due to the lack of keeping them selves clean. i am in the military and know this. i do serve with someone in my unit who is lucky for him still has his foreskin.Health Question & Answer

No, that is totally false. It did happen during world war 2 to prevent infections since they would be in combat without bathing facilities for weeks at a time.

No one is forced to undergo any surgery without the persons permission.
Not is today's armed forces.
If the soldier requested a circumcision, they would definitely accommodate him.

If this young soldier is looking for for encouragement, he can look here for more information on the subject.

absolutely not, that is ridiculous, the military has taken the same stance every major medical association has that there is no benefit to do the procedure without immediate need

the u.s. military has done statistical studies on the servicemen that were cut and intact to see which got more std's and you know what they found: there was no difference Health Question & Answer

My DH was in the USMC for 10 years, throughout the 1990s, and still remains blissfully intact. He heard occasional "rumors" during that time that the military would require it at some point, but those rumors never came from anyone with authority and none of his superiors ever asked him to get circumcised.Health Question & Answer

no, its not a requirement to get a circumsision to join the military, trust me!

dude a LOT of moms and dads dont get their boys circumsised nowadays, its like 50%-50% nowHealth Question & Answer

Nope.

I think they did that to some men at one time before a war, but it's definitely not the case now, and I don't think it was ever mandatory.

Most men never get circumcised.

no i dont think so not unless it becomes a health issue due to infection Health Question & Answer

What! I have never heard something so silly in my life. No they do not need to be circumcised. I know this for a factHealth Question & Answer

Lets see if I remember;
The Army cover it with duct tape .
The Air Force tie a rubber band on it.
The Navy put a ribbon on it.
And the Marines just chop it up altogether. Health Question & Answer
