Ok I'm 15 and i just had mono and im really into sports and going to the gym but since i've had mono i've been asking everyone and no one knows when it will leave/ the Symptoms will not be so bad.... ( i got mono 1 week ago ) Please Help Me OutHealth Question & Answer

Mono can be a really bad disease.
I had it, and I lost my voice for a day or two.
Your tonsils will swell up extremely large, and get large white puss-pockets, and you'll get a fever.
My doctor said there wasn't really any way to treat it, but he gave me stuffed called "Magic Mouthwash". It was a mixture of stuff, even had some morphine in it. It was basicallly just a pain killer and a barrier.
It takes about a week for the throat to get better, but other symptoms can take up to 6 months to clear up.
And once you get it, you will always have it. It will come back up once maybe every year or so.
also, sometimes your spleen can enlarge, so if you feel pain in your left side, you need to contact your doctor again. They might have to remove it, so it doesn't burst.

Once you get mono its for life, it lies inactive in your system after it "goes away" for a while, and it could come back at any time. I think the systems last about a few weeks to a month.? Don't take my word for it but im pretty sure, ive had quite a few friends with mono. Health Question & Answer
