Question: Help me with my vocal cords plz..?
My voice is like a girl. My age is 24 now. My left vocal cord is smaller in size than my right vocal cord. My doctor adviced me to contact voice therapist. But when i contacted them, they had no time for 1 month. Can someone tell me how to do vocal therapy.? Thanx in advanceHealth Question & Answer

Aw man that sucks. I sound like a girl and I'm 16 though. I saw the doctor and it turned out that one side of my vocal cords was not aligned right and moved way faster than the other side. And they wanted me to go to a speech therapist too.
My advice is to try singing. When you are singing, you can get your voice lower then just talking. That should help. Try talking and different voices. Try making it lower. (I know from experience that it can be hard) Try humming lower in your spare time. But just don't burn out your voice box.
Try lifting your head up high and talking lower. When your head is up high, your voice is higher. So if you try and talk lower when your head is up, when you go back to normal, your voice should start to lower.
Other than that, I can't really help you. Get an appointment! A month won't kill you. Just try practicing for an hour everyday.

I read something saying that if you build your neck muscles a bit it takes tension off your vocal cords and your voice deepens. I have never tried it though.Health Question & Answer
