Hey t m, the answer to your problem is immediately obvious if you know anything about diet and exercise. The body gets its first level of energy from sugars. Sugars are a carbohydrate. Endurance athletes do 'carbohydrate loading' by eating spaghetti and chocolates so they have enough energy for their muscles to work.
Protein is a tissue building substance which we get more than enough of in our usual American/Western diet. The down side of protein intake is that it causes ketones which are very toxic to the body and are a large chain molecule and require a lot of water to help get them clear of the kidneys. This water is taken out of body tissues and the body is heading for dehydration if there is too much protein in the diet.
Your lack of energy is simply because you are not taking in enough carbohydrates - you are simply running out of fuel. You are making yourself even more sluggish by taking necessary tissue fluid to flush the protein (ketones) out of your kidneys. When a body builder is entering a competition he will start to step up his protein intake to take advantage of the lost body water effect to give him that ripped look but as soon as the competition is over he'll greatly reduce his protein intake to minimise kidney damage.
Advice.? Step up the carbs intake for energy. Take both simple (sugars) and a lot of complex (veggies) and really back way off the protein shakes/pills/etc. You'll notice a significant change in a day or two once your body sorts itself out again. Health Question & Answer

Carbs are the source of energy for the body... they're necessary for survival, especially when you're exercising a lot. Instead of doing a very restrictive diet, try eating smaller portions and healthier food like vegetables and fruit. If you're hungry and tired it's definitely a sign that the low-carb diet isn't good for you.Health Question & Answer

Look at many Asian countries before they got all the american **** (mcdonalds, kfc etc) they eat a ton of rice, olive oil, fish, vegitables, and a LITTLE chicken, and almost NO beef or pork. And they're all thin and healthy. That should say something. Partially genetics, I'm sure, but not exclusively.Health Question & Answer

it's beginning only, i had it, but now after a month of doing it, i am ok, even more energy. U can have very few carbs though in 2 weeks already. Health Question & Answer

Maybe try adding a few more carbs especially when you're going to be exercising. Protein is necessary for muscle growth, but carbs are also necessary for more immediate energy needs.Health Question & Answer
