Recovery from inactivity?!
Question: Recovery from inactivity.?
If a person injured themselves, and was unable to lift weights for say 6-8 weeks, about how much muscle mass and strength could this person expect to lose.? And, how long would it take to get it back after resuming weightlifting.?
My body type is somewhere between ectomorph and mesomorph. I'm about 6ft, 210 lbs, with a bench press around 330lbs. My measurements are:
bicep - 17.25 inches
waist - 37.5 inches
chest (expanded) - 49.5 inches
If I had never picked up a weight, I estimate I'd weigh around 180 lbs with probably 14 inch arms. So, if I quit lifting weights for 6-8 weeks, where would I end up strength and size-wise.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
6-8 weeks isn't going to kill you. You are very muscular already, good job in the weight room. Remember how long it took to gain all of that.? It isn't just going to melt away if you stop lifting for a bit.
Just be sure to take good care of yourself during your downtime, eating right and such. That way, when you're cleared to go back to lifting, the rest of your body is prepared for it also.Health Question & Answer
