Well first off you'd think this would be a sign to tone down the drinking a bit. But that's just my opinion.

It depends on how much you drink, how often you drink and what you do while your intoxicated. Alcohol in large doses can cause the lining in your lungs to bleed, especially if you also smoke. But more then likely the blood is simply coming from membranes you tore while vomiting. The tissue lining your throat are soft and sensitive and can easily tare if enough force is applied. The bile you vomit is just mucus build up in your stomach and is just a reaction to being hung over. The bleeding on the other hand is not a good sign. It also depends how much blood you actually vomit.

The hang over itself is reaction from dehydration, poor quality sleep and your body being overwhelmed by the sugars that were converted by your body from whatever you were drinking. The obvious way to avoid hang overs is to just not drink - or drink modestly. Otherwise if you drink plenty of water that will help to keep yourself hydrated and help your body break down excess sugars. Then if you get enough sleep you should not feel very hung over at all. But some people are different than others and react differently.

Alcohol can cause internal bleeding in large doses but it does not cause ulcers, nor does spicy food, though both can inflame existing ulcers. Stomach (or peptic) ulcers, specifically, are caused primarily by bacterial infections, acid reflux and stress. However if you do have an ulcer, vomiting can cause it to bleed especially if it is exposed to stomach acid.Health Question & Answer
