ok i had some surgery done to open up the tip of my penis and to fix a stricture that they found.. the good news is that the surger for the stricter is fine . but my tip and i guess a little ways in is way to small. so today the doctor dilated me several times and it hurt like hell. now he told me to go home w/ this cream stuff and self-dilate and he gave me this cone looking thing.. now i just got that dilation stuff done to me today. should this hurt when i do it to myself. he just said to put it in as far as it goes and then take it out. sooooo. should i push it in if its hurting when its only like 1/8-1/4 of an inch in.? Dilation like that normally works slowly, so push the dilator in as far as it comfortably goes and then just a tiny bit more, but not to cause serious pain - a little mild discomfort shows that it is doing its job!
Keep it like that for a while (the doctor should have indicated how long) and remove the dilator. Do this as many times as your were instructed. Over time your meatus will open up as required.Health Question & Answer
