OK I wanna get in really good shape by Jan.?!

Question: OK I wanna get in really good shape by Jan..?
Does anyone know a good exercise/nutrition plan that can help me get into better physical shape by January.?
Here's a description of my current body type: I am about six foot, 180lbs (this is starting to sound like a dating service), I've never considered myself chunky or unfit, but I could use some tightening up.

I enjoy playing tennis, so I guess that's good right.? I have some weights and a jump rope and a pilates dvd that I've never used, but I guess I could give it a try :p

So any advice would be greatly appreciated, even if you can just point me in the direction of a good website or something.

Thanks in advace!Health Question & Answer

try what i'm doing, results wont show quickly, but they're sure to show up by december or january for sure! you can follow your regular dietary habits/eating--however the most important things are: replace juice and sodas for water, water, water, and water. you seem to have a pretty good build for tennis, lol. if you have any habits like eating sweets or lots of treats [like cookies, candy, etc]. [like me lol]--try cutting ALL of them out, unless of course it's the holidays like thanksgiving, or christmas, etc. you can replace them with any kind of fruit or some other food that isnt as sugary; water is great because it can leave you feeling full for a while.

as for the training: try and run a mile a day, and i mean once a day, seven days a week, i only actually run maybe 3-4 miles a week though lol, so you might, too. but the one thing i do happen to do everyday is 100 sit-ups, always a great core workout, not that bad. then do 20 push ups. simple. but if you follow with the 20 push up, hundred crunch combo--you'll be in greater shape; the running also helps a bit more, too. do a lot of stretching for muscle movement, and gaining flexibility, and more room for muscle. :]

you dont necessarily need to drink tons of milk, but you still could; eat lots of iron rich and protein foods, mostly veggies, or yogurt.

you could also try extensive running--just run a little more than a mile--but take it easy! dont overwork yourself, like me--sometimes since we're in off-season at school and do some intense work outs, like 2 whole minutes of single leg jump-roping, mile running, leg 'explosion' exercises [like jumping from a certain point to another, jumping for distance, continuously], and shuffling, etc. it is so painful, after working out. right now i've skipped about 3 days of my workout plan, because my back is in pain, and my thighs are killing me from friday's weight room squats, and i have tendonitis in my wrists. i'm just dying right now, so you still definitely need to know when to rest. just stick to your plan, and dont be afraid to take breaks, when you know you need them, as long as you dont forget to stick to the plan. :]

if you're doing any off season workouts in school, for tennis, or any other tennis drills, just keep doing those, too. also try and get a little more sleep so you'll be healthier and much more re-energized, or almost 'renewed' in the spring, all fresh and in shape. :]

ok you could work out everyday and get jacked but only workout a bit everyday. Or you could work out a lot but work out every 2-3 days. Whatever you do make sure you do things in order and don't stray from the schedule. It's hard to keep up but you can do it!Health Question & Answer
