Question: Help me! I'm overweight and I can't get girls and I want to lose weight but i can't exercise, should I starve.?
I tried running today and yesterday but i get too tired easily. I'm 200 pounds and I'm 5'10". My goal is to get down to 150 lbs. some people may tell me not to become anorexic because that'll make me gain weight, my metabolism will go down, but I know my body pretty well, I know I can lose weight by starving. Girls used to notice me but ever since I put on the weight girls have been ignoring me. What should I do.?

Ok listen. I used to be heavy in high school and I did something about it and now in college I am healthy and girls notice me more. If you want to loose weight you can't simply just stop eating. Eat healthy, try taking in about 2000 cal/day. But watch what you eat...cut the cake and cookies and anything you know you don't need. also, eat smaller meals more times a day. Instead of eating 2 or 3 big meals, eat smaller meals about 6 times a day...ie a sandwich, some eggs. Lastly, exercise. If all you want to do is loose weight son't worry about lifting too much. Just do cardio. The more the better, when i was loosing i tryed to do around 40 minutes a day at least. You only loose weight if you burn more calories a day than you are taking in, so eat healthier and exercise more.Health Question & Answer

You can find lots of information on the web about the calorie value of foods. You should shoot for a balanced 1800 calorie diet. At the same time you should walk 5 days out of every 7. Do not run - it is not necessary. Work your way up slowly until you are walking at least a half hour a day. After a bit you can add some set ups and other floor exercises. Google exercises for lots of suggestions. Do not spend any money on any diet products or exercise machines - they are not needed to get into shape.

KEEP RUNNING!!!! of course you're going to get tired and your body is going to hurt, but if you increase it a little bit each time you will start to see an improvement and you will be able to last longer and the weight will fall off. plus don't starve yourself, just eat heathy!Health Question & Answer

start off with alittle exercises and gradually increase them. also when you go to mcdonalds or somthing, dont get the supersized meal because you dont need that. also instead of getting a soda get a water or lemonade. you have no idea how much those kind of things contribute to your weight.Health Question & Answer

do not go annorexic, you will lose weight originally but once its off and you go back to eating, your metabolism will be so slow you wont burn off fat and just gain it.

Starvation is not a good path to weight loss.

The simple reason is 'your body figures food is scarce, so it saves its fat as best it can, slowing down metabolism'

The way it does that is by burning muscle instead of fat. That slows down your calorie usage - which will make it even harder to lose weight. Have you heard that people who go on and off diets tend to gain weight.? This is why - they diet too hard, burn off their muscle, slow down metabolism then put on even MORE weight.

Don't base your exercise level on other people. You want to run, but its not the running thats important, its the exertion level. If brisk walking is hard work for you, then brisk walking will burn lots of calories. Don't worry about what speed other people go at, worry about how much _effort_ you are putting in. That said, I suggest you look up the 'couch to 5k' running program. Its a suggested method to get from being unable to run more then a very short way to running 5k (3 miles) in 30 minutes.

The basic idea is that you are going to go out, you are going to exercise for 30 minutes. You will start off running for like 30 seconds, then walk for a few minutes, run 30 seconds, walk a few minutes. You'll always hit your 30 minutes of exercise. As you work through the program, you want to gradually stretch out the runs and shrink the walks till by the end you are doing a slow 30 minute jog.

Shawn, you do NOT want to starve yourself. Sure you can lose weight but by the time your brain tells you that you are in starvation mode, you will go back to bad habits and gain not only what you lost but that much again! So infact you would perhaps be up to 250 lbs. The best way is to do it slowly and a healthy way. You don't have to kill yourself running either. Just do a brisk walk or even walk at a pace you can without getting winded. Put in a couple of miles a day and then work up to more or do some strength training. If you are somewhere that you can have swimming privileges, that's good exercise too and less stress on your joints. Eat healthy foods. Instead of a candy bar, have an apple, eat veggies, always have a breakfast. Don't skip meals in fact even eat inbetween but small portions and healthy stuff. Have yogurt, a hand full of almonds, veggies and fruits. Cut back on the high carbs like potatoes, breads and pastas and avoid the heavy fried foods and fast foods. Have foods that are baked or broiled instead. Eat lean meats and fish. Even then portion should be like the size of a deck of cards. Loose a couple of lbs. a week would be a healthy way of doing it and chances of changing your life style will instill better habits and you will get your girl. Health Question & Answer
