They are COMPLETLY different products. Afer shave smells nice but it also opens the pores on your face to help sooth your skin after you shave.
When you shave the blade scrapes skin away and makes your skin raw (but only a little you can barley see it sometimes) and the after shave prevents your skin from getting irritated.
