Question: Should my boyfriend be able to pick me up.?
I'm 32 weeks pregnant and well I gained a little more weight than I was supposed to so I'm 184 pounds....and my boyfriend is between 170 and 180 pounds, no more than that. I was really surprised when he picked me up. He does it all the time now and like....it's scary. Like I'll be laying on top of him and he can get up and stand up while holding me. Are guys normally able to lift someone heavier than them.? He's no hulk or anything either..just really tall...I guess I never thought about how much guys can lift up. Is that normal.? A guy that is in reasonably good health should be able to pickup 100- 125% of his weight if it is in a shape that is not awkward. I don't understand why but it is much easier to lift a person that is awake/conscious than an unconscious person (dead weight) Health Question & Answer
Its absolutely normal! There are some people who can't do it because they are generally out of shape but any average person should be able to lift their own weight at least and than plus some. Just be happy you have an athletic boyfriend! Health Question & Answer
