Beginner tips for shaving?!

Question: Beginner tips for shaving.?
I'm planning on shaving my facial hair for the first time sometime this week, although I'm pretty clueless to what I need to do. I'm got a pretty visible mustache and I want it gone!

Will I need shaving cream to get the job done, what is the best way to shave (up or down) and would it be wise to shave my cheek bones if I don't have a lot of hair on them.?

Thank you. :)Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Use shaving cream always.
Splash your face with some warm water - it opens up pores.
Put the shaving cream on, and shave downwards first, your hair might be thin so you may get a clean shave just going downwards. If you want a closer shave then shave upwards. If you shaving your neck, have it upwards - its easier.

Yea, shave your cheek bones too, you might not notice it but if you only to your side burns and tash, you can kinda sometimes tell there's hair on your cheeks.

When your done splash any left cream (there shouldn't be much) and the rest of your face with cold water, and pat dry...

DONE :)Health Question & Answer

Firstly, Yes you defiantly need shaving cream.. never ever try to shave without it, it is very painful and you will just end up cutting yourself badly.

Here are some tips to help you..

- Good idea to wet the shaving brush with hot water before applying shaving cream as it softens the cream and makes the hair smoother and easier to shave. Apply cream to the Brush and brush only where you intend to shave and make sure there's alot of soap.. the more the easier it will be.. but not too much otherwise it will be very messy.

- Make sure you also wet your shaver with hot water before shaving as well.

- It is better to shave upwards and does get a cleaner shave, although would not recommend this for you as it is alot harder to shave upwards and easier to cut yourself this way.. which ever way you feel comfortable i guess.

- Make sure you regularly clean out the shaver off any hair as it gets clogged up.. although might not need worry for this on your first shave.

- Its up to you but i would recommend defiantly not shaving where ever there is not much hair.. this will make it grow and become alot thicker and darker and within couple of months become very hard to shave it and keep it maintained.

Hope this helped... best of luck...

Health Question & Answer

if ur using a normal razor...

1) Wet your skin
2) Apply a liberal (but covering) amount of shaving foam, making sure
u just go over all the hair, by about 1cm
3) Gently stroke down one side of your face
4) Do it agen, and then even out the other side, making sure all hair is
gone
5) When your done, apply more water, or shaving oil/after shave

if your using an electric razor (cheaper in the long run, and quicker)

1) Wet the shaving area)
2) Gently stroke the area with the razor, exactly the same as the
previous, except u DONT need shaving foam, and u can see how ur
done

3) When finished, apply water or shaving oil/aftershave

and NEVER PUT TOILET ROLL ON A CUT!!!

COZ MOST PEOPLE NEVER PUT THE SEAT DOWN, SO THE TOILET ROLL IS FULL OF GERMS, AND PUTTING THAT ON AN OPEN WOUND....U MIGHT AS WELL SLIT UR WRITS, AND COVER EM IN ****!

if u cut urself (and u WILL, but after a while, it doesnt bother you) just massage it for about ten seconds with a wet finger, and it will stop bleeding!Health Question & Answer

Hey dude you might want to buy some shaving cream and a good men's razor like gillete or something, disposable it doesnt matter. I would just shave the mustache and dont shave ur whole face bc you dont need to. also, if you do shave ur whole face u might end up shaving parts that you dont need to and that will cause hair to grow thicker there.
So to start, just rinse ur face with water. Then apply the shaving cream to ur hand and place it on the area u want to shave. Long, smooth streaks should do the trick. Be careful not to cut ur face, if u do it'll just sting a little but no big deal.
An important piece of advice: when your shaving hair under ur chin / neck area, dont shave too much lower than ur adam's apple bc that when ur beard grows in it will go all the way into ur shirt n u dont want that. Good luck!Health Question & Answer

Wet your face with warm water. Apply the shaving cream. Wet the razor with warm water shave up on cheek and chin. But above the lip shave down. Remember to rinse your razor often when your finished wipe your face off with a warm wash cloth. The warm water will help keep razor bumbs and rashes from developing. also don't go too slow because it will hurt from pulling the hair out instead of cutting it. Health Question & Answer

I actually shave without shaving cream, but I do get cuts rarely. My health teacher once said to shave the oppisite direction your hair grows. (If your hair grow down, then shave up...and vice-versa) SHAVE evenly, don't make it obvious that one side has more hair than the other.Health Question & Answer

Yes, definitely use shaving cream or you'll cut your skin
Shave upwards as it will give the closest and best shave
Shave wherever their is hair but just remember once you start you cant stop because your hair grows back thicker and darker

Good Luck xox Health Question & Answer

How to Shave Facial Hair
Regular Razor BladeDo you have hair growing on your face.? Wondering what to do about it.? Do you go clean shaven.? The rugged scruff.? Or the hardcore mountain man.? It all depends on how much hair's growing on your face and what suits your style. Some of us only have a few whiskers here and there, while others have a lot more to work with (or get rid of). You may have to shave daily, while others can get away with a touch-up once a week - or once a month. Whatever your shaving situation, here's a look at some shaving tools and tips on how to use 'em.

Razors
If you decide to shave some or all of the hair on your face, you're going to need a razor. You can get yourself a regular razor and buy new blades whenever they get dull, or buy disposable ones and just chuck 'em when you're done. Whatever you use, make sure the blade is new and sharp, or else you could end up with all sorts of nicks and cuts. It doesn't look too cool to wander around the halls at school with a bleeding face or with pieces of toilet paper dangling from your skin.
Using shaving cream or shaving gel is also a good idea. It's much better than just using soap because it makes it easier to pull the razor across the skin. But most importantly, take your time. If you treat it like a race, you'll end up looking like you just got in a scrap with Wolverine. Remember to shave with the grain, not across. If you've got questions, ask your older brother or your dad.

Electric ShaverElectric Shavers
Some people really like the electric shaver, especially when they're starting out. With an electric shaver, there's much less chance you'll end up cutting your face, but you probably won't get quite so close a shave. And sometimes the electric ones really tug at your skin.
Straight Blades
A straight blade shave is probably the closest shave you'll ever get. But, a word of caution here from your pals at Kidzworld - don't use the straight blade! If you slip up, you could end up with a major flesh wound rather than just a nick. That's part of the reason why hardly anyone uses straight blades anymore.
Did U Know.?
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the longest beard ever grown was by a farmer from Norway. When he died, his beard was 17 feet, 6 inches (5.33m)!
