My sleep pattern is completely messed up?!
Question: My sleep pattern is completely messed up.?
I am not a big sleeper, 4 hours a night is okay. But over the past month or so, I'm sleeping every other day 3-4 hours only. I don't feel tired even if I am. I tried putting myself to bed early but I've spent 8 hours lying without falling asleep. Teas don't do the trick either.
What can I do.? I'm apprehensive of those sleeping pills and my face is starting to look really tired. I want to sleep!! Any advice.? Thanks.Health Question & Answer

First of all, stay away from caffeine. Tea although does not contain caffeine, has theobromine,if i got it right, a relative of caffeine, still a stimulant. It wont help u sleep. Milk does have some chemicals, melatonin, if im right again, which will help u sleep so instead of tea, soda, coffee or chocolate, drink milk instead. Second, the more anxious u get the more u wont be able to sleep. Before going to bed, stop thinking of work or problems, they wont help u sleep either. If ur into music, u may want to try listening to music, any music will do depending on what gets u to sleep. Some are able to sleep when rock is being played, while others find pop or jazz relaxing. I usually listen to buble or Il divo if i want to get some serious sleep, otherwise the music of jars of clay, maroon 5 or gin blossoms usually do the trick. If it does not work, i just watch anything thats being played on tv and before i know it, i am asleep, just set ur tv timers though. Lastly, if i need to sleep badly but cant, especially a night before major exams, these are times when anxiety is highest, i take sleeping pills. Nope, not the ones that need special prescription but those that come over the counter, theyre usually just antihistamines, non-addictive.Health Question & Answer
Drinking tea isn't going to help. An average tea contains 20-30 mg caffeine per 100 ml.
I used to have the exact same problem, but I did what you are doing and going to bed earlyer. At first I would stay up all night, but you will eventually get used to it.Health Question & Answer
