Question: How serious is Varicocele.?

iv'e just recently been to the doctors and been diagnosed with varicolcele
he said its not anything major to worry about
its a dilation of the veins in the scrotum
im going for an ultrasound scan on the 4th dec
just to see if it is anything else aswell
its a standard surgery procedure and you shud be back to normal in no time :)
dont worry About It
oh and its not proven it makes u infertile , my doctor told me it can encourage it , but its slim :D

i had a varicocele vein in my scrotum. back in late march early april of this year i had to have surgery to have a hernia fixed. while the doc had to be in the same area i asked him to take care of it. since it is fixed now i dont have the heavy feeling, or tenderness of my left testicle. it does cause discomfert once in a while but it does go away. now that the vein is fixed i finally got my wife pregnant in september and it seems to have made things better for me. so if you think you have one then get it checked out. oh by the way dont let the doc BS you. your nuts are on the outside of your body for a reason. they produce sperm at about two degrees lower than the actuall body temp is. so when blood does pool down there it can cause to much heat and reduce your sperm count. i hope to have helped you with this and hope everything goes good for youHealth Question & Answer

There is some evidence that it impairs fertility. Removing the varicocele does not necessarily improve it. Don't be overly discouraged. I think any urologist or family physician will tell you he knows many men with varicoceles who fathered children.Health Question & Answer
