Sperm intergrity and reproductive outcomes ?!

Question: Sperm intergrity and reproductive outcomes .?
What are some ways in which sperm DNA can be damaged .? If a damaged sperm were to fertilize an egg, might that pregnancy end in miscarriage. Facts only please.Health Question & Answer

Answers:
The most common ways for sperm to become damages are heat and radiation. Exposure to too much of either can cause the sperm you produce to be deformed.

This might result in failed fertilization, miscarriage, birth defects, abnormal development, or a normal baby. It really is just luck (or lack thereof).Health Question & Answer

Good question. There are a number of ways sperm DNA can become damaged, advancing age, gonadotoxins, drugs, chemotherapy and radiation therapy, cigarette smoking and other environmental toxins, hormonal factors, etc.

It's not likely that the egg would actually be fertilized by a damaged DNA sperm in a natural pregnancy, but it can happen, especially in IVF. There is an increased chance of birth defects and some genetic abnormalities, but again, this is just an increased chance, not a guarantee. There is also increased risk for problems with fetal growth and development and more chance of the child developing certain health problems, including cancer.

As for miscarriage, any pregnancy can end in miscarriage, and with any problems in that pregnancy, there definitely is an increased risk. But, it's also just as likely that you can end up with a healthy child as well.Health Question & Answer

Sperm gets damaged from heat 50% of the time, drugs to, even some prescribed by doctors. I don't know all the ways it gets damaged theirs probably endless reasons. But i know how to make it stronger... Apparently eating foods with zink will make the mans fertility rate go up because zink strengthens the sperm in the semen, holding the dna together and also expanding the sperms life.Health Question & Answer
