Ok, look protein intake is very important but most people go way over board with it, and actually hinder their progress. Here is the thing, you need to consume a lot more calories if you want to make any real noticable muscle gains. For you, I'd say eat about 4000 cals a day, spread out over about 6 meals. Eat once every 2 hours. Now, as for the protein, you should probably consume about 125-130 grams of protein. Any more than this, and its actually BAD for you because your body won't be able to metabolize it and therefore you won't put on any muscle. Drink a protein shake maybe in the morning, and after you work out, and also include a little protein in your meals. For example, one of your 6 meals of the day could be something like this: 2 egg whites, 2 slices of toast, a yogurt, and some milk, and some salad to make mom happy :). I know a lot of people on here will tell you the more protein the better, but trust me in order to get stronger your body needs a lot of carbs and fats ( the good kind of fats, like from almonds and olive oils, not Mcdonalds). Your calorie intake should be mostly carbs like from whole grains as well. Good luck with your workout program, and be sure to not over train your muscles.

and to answer your other question about your weight after 6 months, it really depends, because some people are faster gainers than others. I mean when I started I was like 5'6 and weighed probably 125 pounds. After like 2 months I am now 5'6 and a half, and weigh about 140 pounds. Here is the thing, just eat plenty of food so your body to continue to grow, and have hard workouts and give yourself enough time to rest and you will probably gain like 15-20 pounds in 6 months ( on top of what you gain from growing taller). Good luckHealth Question & Answer

You are not too young to begin weightlifting, in fact you are at a good age to start. If you want to see massive gains you should try to consume at least 1 gram of protein per pound. So in your case you would need approximately 135 Grams of Protein daily. I honestly couldn't tell you how much you will weigh in the end. Be sure to divide your protein intakes up through out the day in different meals.(which means don't take it all at once.) I would like to advise you to research a little more since you are a beginner and do not know much about weight lifting. If you have any of weight training related questions, feel free to ask.Health Question & Answer

You shouldn't start lifting weights until you 18. Your bones aren't fully developed, and your joints could suffer.

but the recommended intake is usually around 30-40 grams in addition to your normal daily intake.Health Question & Answer
