My gums often swell up around the area where I have a very old root canal (15 yrs old). It always swells when I floss. Help please!!Health Question & Answer

It sounds like you have an infection or abscess. I had the same thing and the dentist had to take the cap off and do some clean up work on the tooth and replace the cap which was very expensive.Health Question & Answer
It sounds like it could be infected. I worked for an oral surgeon for 6 years and many root canal's end up failing and the tooth has to end up being extracted. Personally, I would never have a root canal done. Your best bet it to just have it extracted and get an dental implant put in. In the long run you will end up spending less.Health Question & Answer
