What should I do about my teeth?[please read]?!
Question: What should I do about my teeth.?[please read].?
I'm almost 17, I was just recently told in the past 3 months that I am anemic. Well my teeth are REALLY bad.
Here's a few reasons some dentist have gave me.
1 drinking well water[from being a baby till I was 14].
2 being anemic.
3 smoking.
4 drinking sweet tea.
I need a lot of fillings done. Well, I went yesterday to a dentist in Grove City[Near Columbus]. They told me that I need a few root canals done. I really don't think I do because the teeth he said they need done on aren't hurting or anything, but he says it close to the nerve. Well, the only tooth that has been bothering me is an OLD filling, its REALLY sensitive..
Do you think I should get another opinion.?.?.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
Definitely. But that will cost you again. However "a few root canals" could cost thousands.Health Question & Answer
Get another opinion. And then talk with your parents and see what they say. Have your parents talk with the dentist also so you can all come up with a decision thats best for you.Health Question & Answer
First of all, you need to start seeing your dds regularly so issues dont progress this far. He may have suggested RC's for teeth that dont hurt because the decay is very advanced and the nerve will surely be exposed. If bacteria has a slow enough leak, it can effect the nerve and blood supply without you being in agony. also, if you are using well water, you need to supplement your Fl2 in other ways, and toothpaste isn't enough. You can get tablets at healthfood stores. Sweet tea will certainly make your mouth a breeding ground for cavities...remember, sugar + bacteria = acid, and this cycle repeats itself about every 25 mins. So drink the tea, rinse your mouth and be done with it, constant sipping is like bathing your teeth in acid...NOT A GOOD IDEA! I would trust your dds, a second opinion is needed if you want a better price, but Tx will most likely be the same.Health Question & Answer
