Is there any other reason why a tooth would be a grayish color?!
Question: Is there any other reason why a tooth would be a grayish color.?
Other then a dead nerve.? I have a gray tooth and I really hope I don't have to get a root canal so couldn't it be something else.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
Nope. Grey tooth is dead tooth.
If it doesn't hurt, I dunno why you need a root canal. Root canal is usually done when the nerve is infected.Health Question & Answer

It's probably a dead tooth. There're a couple of other situations that could make it gray, but the most common one is a dead tooth. Unless it hurts, or is infected, you don't need to get a root canal. My friend has a dead tooth and hasn't gotten it pulled, and she's okay.Health Question & Answer
Not necessarily. I had a bad fall when I was a teen that caused blood to fill inside the tooth. I never had root canal. Once every 2 years my dentist coats the tooth with enamel that matches my other teeth so it is not so obvious.Health Question & Answer
Chances are it is just that, a dead nerve that has died from the inside. Often no pain will be felt by this. Root canal is most likely not gonna save it either. Good luckHealth Question & Answer
