Lump on roof of mouth?!
Question: Lump on roof of mouth.?
I noticed about three days ago a lump on the roof of my mouth.
It's in the middle but to the right slightly.
It is painful to touch or if I have a sweet and it knocks it.
Any idea what this is.?
And whether I should go to the Doctors or the Dentist.?

May just be a "maxillary torus". This is just extra bone. It usually shows up after adolescence. May be caused by grinding/clenching. It is permanent and not a problem unless you would need dentures later in life. It may be sore just because you traumatized it while eating something. If this does not sound like what it is - you might want to consult your dentist. He/she will refer you to an oral surgeon if it needs to be checked out. Generally, any kind of sore in the mouth will resolve itself within 7 to 10 days - so if it has been 3 days already and it's still sore in a week - that's probably what you should do.Health Question & Answer
Sounds like an ulcer, let it run it's course which usually takes about 7-10 days. In the mean time, you can do some salt water rinses and use orajel to help numb it. Make sure to stay away from sweet, salty and/or acidic foods.Health Question & Answer
