when i got my filling done there was a few times where i felt some sharp pain and my dentist gave me more of the numbing stuff when it happened.
my tooth was still sensitive for a few weeks after i got my filling done, and when i asked my dentist about it he said that very rarely people can have sensitivity after getting a filling and he suggested that i get some ACT fluoride mouthwash and that has helped a little bit.
hope this helps! =)Health Question & Answer

Yes, it is normal to feel some pain. This is especially true if the cavity was a deep one that came close to the nerve. It sounds like the nerves were irritated by the drilling and will probably take at least a few days to a week to settle back down.Health Question & Answer
