CORN? Does our body take any of the goodness from it?!
Question: CORN.? Does our body take any of the goodness from it.?
a joke on tv the other night made me wonder wether corn really does anything, does your body soak up any of the goodness from it.? coz it comes out the same way it went in lol, doesn't look like much digestion has gone on there.?Health Question & Answer
Answers:
Corn kernels are made up of the hard skin (pericarp) and the endosperm (starchy inner part).
Unless you chew the corn well to expose the endosperm, our bodies do not have the enzymes in order to break thru the pericarp.Health Question & Answer

I think the only thing that I have heard about it is that when its in the intestines its pretty rough so it does a good job scraping out stuff that is stuck and just helps push more along in the digestion process. Not quite sure about health reasons though, Im from Iowa and we love our corn....so i really dont care either way lolHealth Question & Answer
