Hi
I am in the same boat as you are. I need to lose 8 to 9 pounds in the next three weeks. I am already doing hot yoga regularly which has helped me tone up quite a bit but the fat layers on the surface are still there. So this is what I have decided to do during the next 20 days.
(1) Yoga three times a week (which I am already doing) (2) Jogging for half an hour everyday (which I have started this morning) on grass (to avoid injuries). (3) Some sprinting which apparently doubles up the calorie burning. (4) Start the day with a little lemon squeezed in hot water with honey which jump starts your metabolism and is also detoxifying. (5) Make sure that every meal I have is balanced which means that it has a component of good protein, fibre rich carbohydrate and some healthy fat. Have smaller quantities of food at each meal- stop eating cakes (very tough for me) and (6) Whenever I crave for the sweet stuff - have a small amount of dark chocolate instead which has been found to reduce belly fat.
I plan to improvise as I go along this plan based how successful I get reducing weight.
Hey, I have an idea ! Let's compare notes and give each other tips (as to how well you manage on whatever plan you follow) as we go about this.
All the best!

5 feet 4 inches:
Ideal weight 125-149 pounds.
Overweight up to 175 pounds.
Obese over 175 pounds.
ost effective way to lose weight fast is to get your metabolism to burning fast. Someone with a fast burning metabolism is burning the majority of the calories they eat. Sounds good doesn't it.? The short answer is yes, this is completely feasible for the average person. The trick is to understand how to eat certain foods in specific "patterns."
Weight loss you get through fad diets is usually very short lived. Any diet that forces you to eat in an artificial way will not work long term. Cutting way back on calories or eliminating certain food groups is a ridiculous way to live.
For instance, eating low carbs is very popular right now. This method requires you to drastically restrict or even eliminate carbohydrates from your diet. You need carbs for energy and good health! Poor health, boredom, low energy levels.Health Question & Answer

My girlfriend tried all sorts of different diets and products, most without success. Her friend let her try out a new Acai Berry product she was using and she now swears by it.
Shes lost over 13 pounds already, most of the weight went from her tummy, hips, bottom and thighs. Apparently the Acai Berry flushes all the waste out your system and cleanses your body of toxins and bacteria.
She got her own supply for free too, only had to pay like $5 shipping.

Ok, so heres what you do
1) stay on a diet (doesnt mean starving your self )
2) cardio
3) light weight training
1)
Staying on a diet means eating healthier and not eating junk foods, err eat less of whats bad, im sure u no wuts bad for u
burn more than u consume
eat more protein which helps ur motabolism i heard calcium helps as well
stay away from carbs because if you dont use that energy the carb will store the fat/energy into ur body for later use
so too much carbs is not good
eat small meals like 5-6 times a day instead of 3 big meals, which will help ur metabolism
2)
cardio = running, jumping rope, jogging, biking, sports anything that will get ur heart pumping and sweating
at least half an hour a day. and stick to it dont be lazy
you can do this while watching tv and it will make time go by much quicker
remember to stretch before and after to prevent any injuries
3)
light weight training, maybe 5 or 10 lbs is good
it will help tone up ur arms, and legs so that u look slimmer, feel better. and have more energy to do everyday activities
search google: dumbell exercises
( once u get ur dumbells )
thats pretty much it
stay on the diet, dont eat big meals, and dont starve urself either
eat healthy
along with that do cardio to help burn off excess fat
and weight training is very good in burning off calories also
but if u gain weight but ut doing everything i told u to its because ur building muscle and muscle weighs more than fat
