Eyes swollen, what should I do?!

Question: Eyes swollen, what should I do.?
I've been recently wearing my contact lens for too long and now as a result, my eyes are swollen and really red and they hurt when I wear my lens or my glasses. I just got my new glasses too and they hurt my eyes when I am on the computer and hurt my eyes for the like the first 15-30 minutes. Then, they are fine. Is there something wrong with my glasses or is it just my eyes.?

What should I do.?Health Question & Answer

Reading your description made my eyes hurt. I used to wear contacts - for 15 years. I wore glasses for distance since 5th grade.

You should pay close attention to how your eyes weep and the color of your "eye boogers" in the morning. If you notice that it is really thick, persists, or start turning green, then you should get checked out by a doc.

Other than that, you may have done a little damage to your cornea by keeping them in for so long. This happens either due to stuff under the lens or your eye trying to "absorb" the ridge of the lens to smooth blinking.

My guess is that your script changed on your glasses. If they didn't then you may want to contact your optomistrist to see if they got the focal length right for the frame.

Either way, I would put a couple drops of Allergan's product (below) in your eyes, look down, roll your eyes around and around (washing your cornea and coating it), then blink out the extra. Carboxymethylcellulose is the best and Allergan is to bomb! It was my salvation after my eye surgery and is the best when you work at the computer or study for long periods of time. It makes everything better. Do this a couple times a day until your issue resolves. I always keep a stash of this around.Health Question & Answer

It is just your eyes, you may be allergic too it. Why don't you rub ice pack on your eyes for it to be less swollen.Health Question & Answer
