Is poping your leg out of place like breaking a leg or less painful?!

My daughter has dislocated her knee. It was extremely painful, and she had to go to the hospital and have an MUA (Manipulation under anesthetic)

However that was nothing compared to when my son broke his femur in half. When he came to after the accident his foot was facing backwards. Luckily for him he kept losing consciousness.

Popping your leg out of place can be more painful than a break. Although it depends on whether or not it sits on the nerve when you dislocate it and if its a minor or full dislocation. Full dislocations can actually have a more lasting effect than a break. It makes you more prone for a recurrence of a dislocation and can cause internal scarring in the area of the dislocation.
