I have a type one seperated shoulder. Should I keep icing it if the swelling is almost gone?!

Question: I have a type one seperated shoulder. Should I keep icing it if the swelling is almost gone.?
Its been 5 days since it happend and I just put my hand out from landing hard on my body like I always do but I seperated my shoulder, ac joint popped out and back in. Should I keep icing it.? I have full range of motion but still hurts just a bit and haven't put it in a sling cause I don't think it needs to be in one, it doesnt hurt when its in a normal state. And one more thing, when should I stop icing it and start heating it.? Or should I do that after I ice it. Sorry, didnt go to the doctor so you guys are my doctors lol. Its only a minor setback. Thanks!Health Question & Answer

Answers:
You can stop doing regular icing of it. As you start to move more, ice it when you have some pain. Don't over do the movement yet.... slowly add more activity as you are able to tolerate it. If you start to have pain with activity that lasts 2 hours or more, you have over done it. Slow down, do less....but keep the arm moving.

good luck!Health Question & Answer
