Okay well for the last week - week and a half, my dad has been having pains in his left arm (which obviously I know is the sign of a heart attack). He wouldn't go to the hospital as he's stubborn but the pain is still there and he's been missing work. It started out as a pain, now two of his fingers in his left hand are numb and he's finding it nearly impossible to move his neck. Can anyone suggest what these symptoms could mean.? I know he needs to get checked out as does my mother but he keeps thinking it'll just disappear. Ugh. WHY won't he just get checked already.?Health Question & Answer

Your best bet is to look up heart attacks online. Print it out and take it to him. The things you described are symptoms and as stubborn as he wants to be if he sees it in print he might go to the hospital and get checked out. He's getting warnings right now.. the next thing may well be the event.

IF a problem with the heart has been ruled out, then there are other blood flow problems that could be considered. Corparl tunnel or tendinitis can cause major problems similar to these, but usually the pain from these will be noticed getting worse over a period of time. More likely it could be a spinal problem and he will need to see a chiropractor on a regular basis. But that is only if a heart or problems with the arteries to the heart are ruled not to be a problem.Health Question & Answer

I don't know, but it definitely sounds serious. I think you should listen to the other people who gave answers. He definitely needs to have it checked out.Health Question & Answer
