Question: What to expect during rectal exam.?
Totally embarassing, but my doctor has suggested that I get a rectal exam due to some symptoms I've been having to rule out some issues. For anyone that's had one, just how bad is it, and what can I expect.? I've read online that it's only about three minutes or so, but still ... eek!Health Question & Answer

Honest truth is that it is pretty uncomfortable. I don't mean screaming, crying gonna pass out pain, but just be prepared to not have a pleasant experience. Be prepared to be probed by a warm well lubed set of fingers. Just turn your head and look away, let him do hiw work and then you will have to pee like there is no tomorrow. Remember this isn't your boy friend getting off, this is a professional getting off and he'll try not to embarrass you as he has experience and does it several times every day.

its not terrible but it is uncomfortable! just close your eyes and count sounds weird i no but it takes your mind of it. it can ache a bit but i doubt it will hurt.
