What would a bullet look like after it was been in someone for a while?!

Question: What would a bullet look like after it was been in someone for a while.?
I saw this weird show on tv, i guess it was like csi, and in it they pulled a bullet out of a person who'd had it in for like a year or something and it didn't really look like a bullet at all, does that seem right.? Wouldn't the bullet look exactly the way it did when it was first shot.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
it really depends on the distance that the bullet was shot at, and the type of casing (shell) that the bullet was.

and of course how long it had been there,
there are enzymes in the body that can decay a 'foreign body' inside your body.
which basically means that if you are shot, and your body detects that there is something there that shouldn't be there, it will start to attack it.

another example is that is if someone is shot, and they happened to have died, if the bullet is not removed, and formaldehyde is put into the body to preserve it, then the bullet will more than likely decay alot quicker.

if the distance was far away at which the bullet orginated from, it may be mishapen in some way.

i hope i helped :)Health Question & Answer

A bullet would compress a bit once it hit something - kind of like an aluminum can if you stepped on it to crush it. The bullet would also be missing the casing which is either expended in an automatic weapon, or left in the cylinder in a revolver.Health Question & Answer
