Tightness in Chest Area?!
Question: Tightness in Chest Area.?
Every now and again, its happened today, a place in my right shoulder/chest tightens up and it sometimes hurts to breathe. The place it tightens up is almost the pectoral muscle but its not a muscle tension, more like the feeling of trapped air or something. I just got over a pretty good upper respiratory infection and have a lot of problems with sinusitis, etc. But my family has history of heart problems and unfortunately as of late I've gained about 15 pounds, I'm only 22. I am 5'4 and weigh 143. So what could cause it.? Respiratory problems.? Anxiety.?

You're young, so it's probably not heart disease and/or a heart attack, however, get yourself checked out. If you've just gotten over a sinus infection, it could be acute bronchitis which will cause chest pain.
Chest pain is not to be fooled around with. I'm just a little younger than you, and went to the doctor complaining of chest pain and it was there it was discovered I have a congenital heart defect.
Please get checked out. Chest pain is not a good symptom, even if it turns out to be nothing more than a panic attack (which mimics the symptoms of a heart attack). Health Question & Answer
