Ok. Im new at this...My wife has been hurting for almost an entire week now. I talked her into going to he ER on Wed. due to her pain. She is hurting on her right side right under the ribs but the pain radiates to her back when she uses the bathroom( urinates) The Dr at the ER only did a urine test, said it was a UTI gave her some pills and sent us home. She is now done with the pills and the pain is worse than ever. She said its worse than what she felt when she had appendicitis. She wont stop crying and wont let me near her because she doesnt want me to see her in so much pain. I have no idea what is hurting her so much. She said it feels like a knife is stabbing her insides and the pain has gradually worked its way down to almost her pelvic bone. However I cannot convince her to go back to the ER. There are no walk in clinics within an hour of where we live and she doesnt want to travel to one of them either. We have tried heating pads, tylenol and nothing is doing any good for her. Any Ideas on what this could be, how serious it is and how I can convince her to get to the ER again. She is just worried about costs and going to the ER if nothing is really wrong with her. ( she felt like the last trip was a waste of time and money) Health Question & Answer
Answers:
If she has had a uti she now sounds like she has a kidney infection. She needs another course of antibiotics. If she leaves it she may get permanent kidney damage. The last trip just meant that the antibiotics prescribed may not have been the right sort - but she may have been even worse had she not taken them at all. She needs to go back and get sorted - and take regular pain relief and rest.Health Question & Answer

My oldest brother is one tough SOB (former marine, broke his hand in the 1st quarter of a football game way back when and kept playing) and he was rolled over praying out loud on the way to the hospital because of how incredibly painful it was. Go back, smack the h*ll out of the doc and see if you can't get some service.

Call a doctor or maybe you have a friend who knows a nearby doctor. Search the web for any possible remedies like any herbal medicine you can apply or you can give her, fruit drinks that can help ease the pain. Or maybe types of oil o massage the affected area. Tell her to massage gently the paining area but you know what it's more comforting if you will do it for her I experience it when my husband did it to me you can convince her.
