Answers:
Ice works best immediately after the injury occurs, because it helps to prevent inflammation. By this time, though, your shoulder is already inflamed, so heat will work better. Heat will ease the soreness and increase blood supply to the area, which speeds up the healing process.

In addition, take ibuprofen (advil, motrin) to reduce the inflammation. Make sure you rest your shoulder completely, because any stress on the joint will cause it to heal more slowly.

In a few days, if you don't see much improvement or if it gets any worse, go to the doctor to have it thoroughly checked out.Health Question & Answer

You need to use ice. Ice reduces inflammation. Ice it for 20 minutes, take it off for 20 and repeat. If you apply heat to an injury like that it can increase the amount of inflammation. Take something to reduce the discomfort such as Motrin or Advil but make sure you only take what you are supposed to take. If it isn't better in a couple of days it wouldn't be a bad idea to go get it checked out to make sure you didn't damage the rotator cuff in your shoulder.Health Question & Answer
